ABOUT NEEKI DESIGNS

Born from love.

Built for independence

What began as a daughter's solution for her father became a lifeline for thousands of Australians. Neeki Designs was founded on a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves to move on their own terms.

THE ORIGIN STORY

A daughter.
A father.
A sheet.

Every great invention starts with a real problem felt by a real person. For Dominique, it started at home watching her father struggle.

THE BEGINNING

A father diagnosed. A family changed.

When Dominique was just eight years old, her father was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at only 39 years of age. It was a diagnosis that reshaped her family's world. As years passed, something as simple as turning over in bed or getting up in the morning became a genuine struggle for him.

Dominique and her mother refused to accept that there was nothing they could do. Together, they set about finding a solution; not a medical device, not a piece of equipment, but something as everyday and intimate as the sheet he slept on.

"We make things that work better and last longer. Our products solve real problems with clean design and honest materials."

- DOMINIQUE SANDAY, FOUNDER

2003

The Wonder Sheet® takes shape

What began as a homemade solution became a registered product in 2003. The concept was elegantly simple: a fitted sheet that combined two carefully chosen fabrics — a central Glossy Charmeuse satin panel positioned under the shoulders, back, and hips, and a durable 50/50 cotton/polyester surround. The satin allowed effortless sliding and pivoting; the cotton gave grip and comfort at the edges.

Dominique's Dad absolutely loved it. He was able to get a better night's sleep and turn over on his own. He felt more independent and self-sufficient and that made him happier.

GROWING

Beyond Parkinson's: for anyone who needs it

Dominique and her family soon discovered the Wonder Sheet® wasn't just for Parkinson's disease. Customers began writing in from all corners of Australia including people living with MS, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, stroke, chronic arthritis, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and the quiet, creeping limitations that simply come with age.

The community grew. Occupational Therapists began recommending it. Aged care facilities enquired. NDIS and Home Care Package funding opened doors for even more people to access it. Word of mouth carried the Wonder Sheet® into bedrooms across the country.

TODAY

The Wonder PLUS®... a new chapter

Listening closely to feedback from Occupational Therapists, Dominique developed a second design: the Wonder PLUS®. Where the original Wonder SHEET has satin completely across the middle of the sheet, the PLUS is only in the middle NOT on the sides.

This seemingly simple addition made a profound difference giving users stability and grip as they sat/transferred on the poly/cotton sheeting on the side of the bed. It helps aged care staff reposition residents with far less physical effort and gives carers confidence and peace of mind. The Wonder PLUS® is approved under the DVA Rehabilitation Appliances Program in ‘White’.
